The Minister of Fisheries Hon John Maneniaru this afternoon officially opened the E-Monitoring building at the Fisheries head office campus.
The building was built by a local contractor inside five months and it is purposely to house the electronic monitoring equipment and also personals who would be manning it.
Additionally the completion of this building will also provide much needed office space for some of the newly recruited staff of the ministry.
Speaking on the occasion Hon Maneniaru thanked the New Zealand Government through the Mekem Strong Solomon Islands Fisheries (MSSIF Programme) which provided funds for the construction of the building.
The World Bank Project PROP, will scale up the project by another 25 vessels in the coming years.
