The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources’ drive to increase its workforce has received a timely boost with the donation of re-furbished laptops by New Zealand’s Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI).
With staff numbers growing, the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources has immediate needs for additional computers to enable efficient delivery of service.
MPI work closely with the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, providing capacity development for compliance officers in the offshore tuna fishery. They have provided similar assistance in past and the recent assistance will further cement the relations between the two ministries.
The laptops will be allocated to staff in the different divisions within the Ministry.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Fisheries thanked the New Zealand government for the assistance and assured the laptops would be utilised for the purposes they were intended.
