With English as a second or third language to many Solomon Islanders not everyone can speak it or write it well.

It is for this reason that a privately run grammar school - the Island Bible Ministries (IBM) own by Dr Alpheus Zobule is enrolling students from all walks of life to study basic to intermediate English grammar courses.

One such student is Mrs Kinless Karovo who graduated from the grammar school yesterday. She is the Knowledge Management officer at the ministry of Fisheries.

She said her grammar has improved a lot since she attended the programme. She completed five modules and was rewarded with a certificate

“By attending this English Grammar classes it really improved my writing and speaking in my work place,” she said.

Mrs Karovo described the grammar school as blessing to Solomon Islands people adding the small knowledge gained during the five months programme has made significant improvement to her working environment.

She encouraged other staff to enrol for the programme as it will greatly enhance their spoken and written English.

Mrs Karovo said she made the right decision to enrol for the grammar course because now she can write and speak proper English.

The five modules you need to complete are:

1.Basic English Grammar – 0-level

2.Introduction to English Grammar 1

3.Introduction to English Grammar 2

4.A study of English syntax

5.Intermediate English grammar
