Delegates from the six Coral Triangle Initiative Countries are currently attending the organisation's annual meeting of senior officials at the Heritage Park Hotel.

A total of one hundred and fifty delegates are expected to arrive in Honiara by this weekend for the 15th Senior Officials meeting co-hosted by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources and Ministry of Environment.

PORT MORESBY, 11 September 2019 – Media personnel in Papua New Guinea now have a better understanding of the significance and value of tuna fisheries after three days of a fisheries-related media workshop. The workshop was held from 9-11 September in Port Moresby and brought together around twenty journalists, as well as selected journalism students from Divine Word University in Madang.

The Governments of Japan and Solomon Islands have formalized a Grant Aid Agreement to support fisheries development programmes with the signing of documents in Honiara on Friday last week.
