The recent signing of amendments to the South Pacific Tuna Treaty by diplomats from the United States and the 16 Pacific Islands at Novotel Hotel in Nadi has been hailed a success.

The Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission annual meeting opened yesterday in Nadi, Fiji with a traditional Fijian welcome ceremony and a call by the organization’s chairperson to appreciate “the value of incremental progress” in the Commission’s decision making process for fisheries conservation and management.
