Honiara, 28 May 2020: Eleven years old Samuel Jason Voda Marsh, a fifth grader at Honiara International School (Woodford) yesterday joined officer from the Ministries of Environment and Fisheries to tag and release back into the wild, a juvenile Green Marine Turtle (Species name - Chelonia mydas).

Representatives from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR), the SIG ICT Services, Customs, Health, Soltuna, National Fisheries Development (NFD) and iTUNA Intel conducted a 3-day workshop at Munda from 11-13 March to advance proposals to establish a wholly integrated digital catch documentation and traceability scheme for the Noro Fishing Port which will be known as ePort

Staff of the Ministry of Fisheries are being reminded to turn up for work by the Human Resource Manager Mr Tom Rarakani following incidence of staff missing work without any good reason.

Dr Christian Ramofafia has been re-appointed as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources. His appointment was formalised last week when he was sworn in at the government House.
